A school environment is widely defined as a collection of relationships that take place among community members (its facilities, classrooms, school-based health supports, and disciplinary policies and procedures), which are influenced by structural, personal, and functional aspects of the educational institution and give schools their unique identities. It prepares the ground for the outside variables that influence students. A school is said to have a pleasant learning environment if it has the right infrastructure, well-run classrooms, accessible school-based health supports, and a fair and transparent disciplinary procedure.
According to PRIMA, a school community that is based on respect will always be successful. We don’t often declare things in such a definitive manner, but we do so because we think it’s a fundamental truth of great institutions. In order to create and maintain a positive learning environment, respect is a crucial core element. Respect creates an environment conducive to the growth of trust and knowledge. The old clichés about respecting your teacher and elders are becoming less and less prevalent. Schools, educators, and educational administrators must serve as role models. Additionally, even though we require respect from our pupils, there are moments when we struggle to show it to kids who are difficult to love.
Teachers and other leaders should be respected and should demonstrate same respect to others. PRIMA is a proponent of the teacher-student respect phenomenon. Everyone in schools must have the right to be treated with dignity. Leadership counts in schools, just like anything else. A option to change one’s behavior is made possible by discipline with dignity.
The main environmental components at PRIMA are

10 characteristics of a PRIMA learning environment
An organization structure should be set up to lead in creating a positive psycho-social environment. The psycho-social environment at PRIMA encompasses,
The classroom social environment is comprised of students; perception about how they are encouraged to interact with and relate to others. When we say PRIMA having asocial environment it means a school freedom from abuse and violence, a climate of care, trust and respect. A place full with social support and mental health promotion. A classroom having opportunities for physical education and recreation. We focus on four basic separate dimension of the classroom social environment interaction.
It goes without saying that our surrounding affect us consciously and sub consciously. The environment we are in can motivate us to focus on our tasks or cause distraction that will make us lose connection. For students, the environment where their learning and study affect their productivity. As teacher will also find it easier and more enjoyable to teach students who are focused on their lessons. The classroom should be clean, an appropriate temperature, and students should have access to needed materials. Routines and schedules have to be in place so that participants know what to expect in their classroom.
Here are some points on which a physical environment of a school should be arranged:
Safety: Everyone in the school needs to be feel safe. Students need to know that no physical harm will come their way neither mental. Emotionally, students need to feel accepted and know that they are accepted for who they are.
Value student’s choice: A key component at PRIMA for students to take charge of their learning is to be involved in decision making. If students are able to make decision, then they will feel more invested in their choices.
In order to address school health in a more thorough manner, the idea of a health-promoting school has been developed over the past ten years by WHO. In an effort to improve the health opportunities for kids, it reflects a setting approach where various school factors are taken into consideration. Health Promoting Schools have been acknowledged as a strategic tool to encourage positive growth and healthy behaviors such as exercise, physical fitness, play and recreation, and balanced nutrition. PRIMA actively promote health on each of their campuses. Our campuses don’t have tuck shops because we want to discourage bad food and encourage a healthy diet. Every year, PRIMA campuses organize educational and fun trips for the benefit of our students’ mental development. Every day at PRIMA, students have a period dedicated to games or sports during which our sports teachers coach them in more than 15 games. To recognize this, a whole week is designated as the Sports Gala once a year.
